“Bowie” while a large and well-boned male is still an athletic intense
retriever. His size makes him a powerful swimmer in the swift currents of the
Susquehanna where his owner hunts. In disposition, he is a gentle friendly dog
much beloved as the neighborhood buddy. He shares his time with 3 boys and is
the unofficial local soccer team mascot. He has a proper thick harsh coat, and
is well balanced in angulation. He has a ground covering movement and completed
his show title with 4 majors.
Both of his parents are superior Chesapeakes. His sire (Bering Sea) has been the
#1 stud dog in the breed for 2003 & 2004. Bowie has inherited his sire’s super
attitude and superior retrieving instincts. His dam (Glacier Bay) is one of but
a handful of Ch/MH/** female Chesapeakes in breed history. She is a good marker
and an exceptionally good marking dog. She has a friendly and gentle personality
and gets along well with other dogs.
Pups from Bowie’s previous litters had good
coats, broad heads, superior bone and great attitudes. A number are in working
homes and doing well. One daughter earned her JH title at 10 mos. of age and
another recently titled including winning the large 9-12 mos. puppy bitch at
2005 ACC National. |
